Hawaii's old royal capital, this city was a major whaling port in the 1800s. Today, tourism and agriculture are major activities. Sight-seeing cruises, glass-bottom boat trips, and fishing trips are all popular at the bustling waterfront. Visit the Carthaginian II Floating Museum, a 120-foot whaling vessel with exhibits on whales and whaling. There are many great shops, galleries and resteraunts. A huge banyan tree marks the center of town; planted in 1873, it covers almost an acre. It is one of many photo spots you should not miss!
